My Short Term Mission (USA)

For the next few years, I see my mission being to help young people take their place in the New Age. I am currently working on a board game for 8- to 12-year old's about healing the Earth.

What I'd like to do for high school age people is organize classes and workshops on various "New Age" topics such as astrology, tarot, Feng Shui, herbal remedies, rituals, and managing their energy.

I will start with half or full day Saturday workshops and see where that leads me, possibly working toward a summer week-long day camp. I would like to be able to offer these classes/workshops at some suitable convenient space like a bookstore or healing center.

I know people who would be great teachers for these classes but I would work with all teachers to make sure their presentations are action-oriented and participatory. I'm not sure where to advertise to reach the teens, but I expect to reach their parents through The Edge, Minnesota Women's Press, and other local media.

I live with a 14-year old who can't wait for this to be real-she's been looking for this for years. I feel strongly about providing not only the information, but also camaraderie and connection for the teens. Eventually, I want the courses to last long enough to allow that to happen. I'm really excited about getting started!
